Māori and Pasifika Trades Training (MPTT) is a fees-free scholarship offered exclusively for Māori and Pasifika people aged between 16 and 40. Gain skills and experience in a MPTT approved trades programme and step into a trades career. Cultural programmes, work ready skills and whānau involvement are an important part of MPTT.

With MPTT you will:

  • Get support from a dedicated coordinator to help you on campus and into a job, apprenticeship or further studies
  • Enjoy cultural development opportunities
  • Be part of the MPTT group of students – make new connections
  • Access Learner Support Funding to get you set up with what you need to succeed
  • Develop an Independent Learning Plan
  • Have workshops to support your learning and get you work ready

Taranaki MPTT Consortia

Taranaki Futures holds the contract to deliver Māori and Pasifika Trades Training (MPTT) in the Taranaki Region. Delivery is run by a consortia - a group of employers, educators, iwi and Pasifika representatives that govern the kaupapa and make connections for our ākonga (learners). Teaching and learning occurs at WITT.
